Principal - Louise Hawkes BBOdance Examiner, A.B.B.O, A.U.T.D, A.A.D.A,
Having trained at The Buckley School of Dance as a child, Louise Hawkes gained her first teaching qualification in 1995 at the age of 17 and then continued on teaching at the school, progressing through many further qualifications until eventually becoming Principal of the School in 2003 and then onto become a BBOdance Examiner in 2017.
The school has gone from strength to strength and continues to grow under her guidance.
Louise choreographs, produces and directs every school performance as well as an extensive amount of competition numbers and many outside projects.
She is currently choreographing for Wigan Little Theatre Pantomime in which our dancers are performing.
Gemma Butler A.B.B.O
Having also been trained at The Buckley School of Dance as a child, Gemma Butler qualified with the BBO in 1999. She teaches many of the Senior and Advanced classes in Tap.
Tap is Gemma's passion and she has danced and trained with many respected tap dancers/teachers including Jurek Sroka and Debbie Clark. She continues to enthuse her love of tap to the students and choreographs many numbers both for competitions and shows.
Principal of Urban Funk Dance
As a child Kate attended The Buckley School of dance and Tina's and then went on to train at Bretton Hall College, where she gained a BA Hons in dance. Following this she gained a Pgce (teacher's certificate) from the University of Manchester.
Kate has also trained in America at the School for Creative and Performing Arts (Original Fame School) and with the Dayton Ballet.
She then went on to work in Hong Kong where she taught at the prestigious Arts School kid's gallery. Whilst there she also trained and performed with Ones to Watch hip hop dance company as well as with Tony Stone (choreography to J. Lo, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson etc!)
Kate then worked as a dancer with contemporary dance company 'Motion House' and also in the world premier of 'Amadis
de Gaulle' the opera.
Susan Hayes - Singing
Singer/Song writer and teacher, Susan trained as a classical singer at the RCS in Glasgow. She graduated in 2002 with a BMus (Hons.) in Vocal Performance and went on to study there for a further year, gaining a Vocal Performance Post Graduate Qualification in 2003.
As well as teaching for the Buckley Theatre School, Susan also teaches in Primary & Secondary Schools, colleges & further education. She is also a choir director.
Susan is passionate about helping people improve their singing voices, regardless of style & experience level.
